How to verify a swap deposit address before sending funds

Check the deposit address against the one shown inside your active swap session. Do not rely on any address sent to you via email, social media, or a browser bookmark. The only trustworthy source is the address displayed on the exchanger's website after you have created a specific swap order.

Why this matters. A deposit address is generated uniquely for each swap. If you send funds to an address from a previous order, a different user's address, or a phishing page, the exchanger cannot route the funds to your intended trade. The transaction will either fail or credit someone else's account. Recovery is rarely possible.

How to confirm you have the right address

Open the swap order on the exchanger's official domain. Look for the deposit address inside that order page - not on a general "deposit" page, not copied from an email receipt. The address should match across two checks:

1. The first character and the last four characters. Most wallets show a truncated preview. Compare these against the full address on the exchanger. If they differ, do not send.
2. The full address, character by character. Copy the address from the exchanger. Paste it into a text editor or a dedicated address checker. Then compare it to the address shown in your wallet. One wrong character means a different destination.

Do not copy an address from your wallet into the exchanger's field and assume it is correct. The exchanger generates the address for you to send to - not the other way around. If you paste an address from your clipboard into the exchanger, you are requesting a swap to that address, not verifying a deposit address.

Additional verification steps

• Check the URL bar. Ensure you are on the exchanger's real domain. Phishing sites clone the page and substitute their own deposit addresses. A secure connection (HTTPS) is not proof of authenticity - look for the exact domain name you have used before.
• Confirm the asset and network. A Bitcoin address and an Ethereum address look different, but some networks share address formats. The exchanger will specify which network to use (e.g., ERC-20, BEP-20, native chain). Sending on the wrong network can destroy the funds. The deposit address alone does not encode this information.
• Send a small test amount first. This is the only practical way to confirm the entire pipeline works. If the test arrives and appears in your swap order, send the remainder. If it does not, stop and investigate before sending more.

What to do when the address does not match

If the deposit address on the exchanger differs from what you expected, do not send anything. Close the swap order. Clear your browser cache. Start a new swap from scratch on the exchanger's official site. If the mismatch persists, contact the exchanger's support directly - not through a chat widget on a page you are unsure about.

If you have already sent funds to an incorrect address, contact the exchanger's support immediately. Provide the transaction ID (TXID) and the swap order ID if you have one. Do not expect a refund. Exchanges cannot reverse blockchain transactions. They may be able to freeze the funds if they control the destination address, but they have no obligation to do so.
